 The NMSB XVa-1 is a portable surface-mounted barrier used for high threat security areas requiring temporary protection. The NMSB XVa-1 is certified by the Department of State to stop a 15,000-pound vehicle traveling at 30 mph. The average barrier opening is 12' (3.66 meters). In the up position the top of the barrier is 31" (78.7 cm) above the road surface. The barrier is normally operated hydraulically, though manual operation is an option. This barrier does not mark or damage the roadway.
